Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a new agreement with Emirates Transport Driving Institute for training passenger transport drivers.
The step is part of RTA’s policy to keep pace with the latest practices of the industry and enhance cooperation with the private sector.
“The agreement aims to improve the quality of training by availing of advanced and new programmes of the private sector in support of passenger transport activities in Dubai. It reflects RTA’s commitment to improving the training programmes and engaging the private sector in enhancing passenger transport service in Dubai,” said Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency.
“The privatisation of drivers training centres started in November 2017 and the signing of this agreement with Emirates Transport Driving Institute opens additional channels for providing passenger transport training service. It will also broaden the service delivery points; which will accelerate the training process and ensure the deployment of sufficient drivers to meet the growing demand for the service in Dubai. The agreement will also boost the competitiveness between service providers and motivate them to adopt state-of-the-art technology in training drivers; which will also enhance customers happiness,” added Bahrozyan.
The director of Driving Services Center at Emirates Transport Driving Institute Abdullah Abdul Rahman said: “The team of the Institute and myself take pride in the confidence reposed in the Institute by RTA’s Public Transport Agency. The new agreement cements the solid cooperation and strategic partnership between the Emirates Transport and RTA.”
“The Emirates Transport Driving Institute will cater to drivers training services as provided for in the Agreement. The Institute has got the competent human resources and modern infrastructure to deliver the Agreement at the highest standards,” he concluded
